Refreshed 2026-05-12 after the wiki-wide consolidation pass.

Recently resolved (2026-05-12)

The wide consolidation pass cleared the long-standing backlog. Items resolved on this date:

• Four Master Tropes — page created at wiki/four-master-tropes.md; notes 662, 690, 1005 now ingested; placed alongside Strategies (2010/2011) as the sibling collage-aphorism work.
• Sacred geometry — consolidated at wiki/sacred-geometry.md; the cross-traditional thread (loom / mandala / stained glass / heraldry / cellular automaton) now has a canonical home; existing treatments in senescenence, evolutionary-logic, and the Cloud Writings / Struggle for Pleasure / Mandala Q&A summaries remain but are no longer the sole sites of the argument.
• Interval space — subsection added to wiki/assemblage-identity.md; the New Museum 2013 formulation ("tracking an interval space") connected to 952's identity-as-navigation and to About.
• Plotter as constitutive medium — section added to wiki/process-legibility.md; the four cooperating features (vector-not-raster; mark-by-mark legibility; time as content; hand-machine collaboration) and the cross-page citation list.
• Stop-condition pattern — paragraph added to wiki/recursion.md; CGP graph, mandala base case, cellular-automaton reconfiguration, and DNA-as-zip ("leaves get smaller, the program decides to stop") read together as the practice's structural-halt principle.
• Phantom 876 in process-legibility.md — resolved by adding a citation in the body: the work that contains its own criterion cannot smuggle that criterion in from elsewhere; the reveal is a structural consequence of the autonomous algorithm.
• "Before ascribe.io" claim in iou-exhibition.md — corrected to "contemporaneous with Event Listeners"; the precedence claim was not established by sources.
• DIL on-chain plan status — caveat added to the zora-zine summary noting that the 23,000-token release is not reflected in current harm.work data and its outcome is not currently established.
• Left gallery 2026 status — caveat added to the tokenising-sustainability summary noting that post-Merge chain-integration restoration is not currently established.
• synthesis-threshold.md — speculative future-work sections extracted to wiki/future-directions.md; page rewritten as factual cross-cutting synthesis.
• Recursive Intervention in Our Inner Child — verified against harm.work sitemap: the work is listed as part of the Our Inner Child (2023) exhibition. Flag closed.

Outstanding

Stale frontmatter dates

A periodic sweep would catch frontmatter updated: fields that lag behind the body's most recent meaningful edit. Currently the wiki contains several pages whose updated: date is from 2026-04 even though substantive edits happened in 2026-05. This is cosmetic; the log entries are the authoritative record.

Markov memorylessness — distribution rather than consolidation

Discussed in wiki/markovs-dream-palette (palette as counter-example), wiki/subconscious-computation (catastrophic forgetting / why memorylessness is a design choice), wiki/protocol-taste-systems (DSM melancholia), wiki/randomness-pattern (parent-conditional mechanism). After the consolidation pass these appearances are kept distinct because each addresses a different facet, not the same content; they are not redundant.

Lower-priority verification items

These are items where the wiki has correct content but the source is the author's recollection rather than a checkable artefact:

• The 1959 date for Vera Molnár's Quatre éléments distribués au hasard — referenced in pression-des-pairs and angles-morts — would benefit from a confirming citation if one exists in the artist's archive.
• The 2002 audio-composition date for Strategies (first used in the 2010/2011 work) is supported by 3004 but not externally corroborated.

These are not problems; they are flags for a future pass that could add citations from the artist's personal records.

Items previously flagged, now confirmed resolved

The thermopaper "photosensitive" → "thermosensitive" correction in works-overview.md was already applied in an earlier pass. The Markov's Dream / Markov's Window link error in works-overview.md was fixed in the 2026-04-12 lint pass. The duplicate-image issues (stained-unravel.png in two places, Sculpture_02.jpg in two places) were resolved earlier — current state: stained-unravel.png appears only in senescenence.md (the page where it is hero-figure); Sculpture_02.jpg appears only in semiotic-square.md. The lint-report.md indexing flag was resolved by adding the page to the index Reference section.

Future maintenance principles

Three principles for keeping the wiki coherent across continued ingest:

1. Single canonical home, load-bearing restatement allowed. Each topic has one page that owns the full argument; other pages may briefly restate the argument only when a click-away would break the local reading. The 2026-05-12 pass enforced this for fitness functions (canonical: evolutionary-logic), the taste-externalisation arc (canonical: protocol-taste-systems), compression/decompression (canonical: randomness-pattern), and the stop-condition principle (canonical: recursion).

2. Factual archive separate from speculative synthesis. wiki/future-directions.md is the holding area for proposed future works and underdeveloped territories. The rest of the wiki should record what is the case, not what would be possible.

3. Cross-cutting observations land at their canonical home and are pointed-to from related pages. When a new ingest yields an observation that spans pages (e.g., the DNA-as-zip / built-in stop-condition pattern from the Sutela conversation), it goes to its canonical home with brief cross-references from the other relevant pages — not a long restatement in each location.
